How our Sunglasses are made:
Every piece of Chromos Eyewear is expertly crafted with carefully selected materials to meet our high standards of quality. Our frames begin as large sheets of acetate, a material made by forming layers of plastic into a large block. Acetate is lightweight, durable, hypoallergenic, and derived from renewable resources, making it the choice material for any quality eyewear manufacturer. To start, all of the individual shapes of every style are cut from the sheet acetate and molded to fit each frame. After bevels are cut to hold the lenses, each individual piece is polished, and tumbled for ten days to ensure the optimal finish and color. We use polarized lenses in our frames, which contain a special filter that blocks intensely reflected light to reduce glare. Over 75 different operations and hundreds of hands go into the making of a single pair of Chromos. After the frames are received, they are each inspected by hand to ensure that only the finest product is distributed to our customers.
